Home Health Registered Nurse Terri Zajicek has been selected by her co-workers as Beatrice Community Hospital and Health Center Employee of the Year for 2011.

The announcement was made Friday at a luncheon honoring all of the year’s employees of the month. Joining employees for the luncheon and award presentation ceremony were family members and friends as well as hospital staff and administrators and members of the hospital’s Board of Directors.

The Employee of the Month and Year awards recognize employees who demonstrate the hospital’s values of excellence, compassion and ethics in their daily work.  Zajicek provides services to children from birth to 18 years of age. She represents the hospital by visiting all new mothers and babies in the county. Along with her knowledge of outside agencies and resources, she works closely with pediatricians to give families the best opportunities for good health and growth.

Hospital employees choose the Employee of the Year from among the monthly award winners. Zajicek received a variety of gifts and will be honored later this year on the state level during the Nebraska Hospital Association’s Caring Kind Award Luncheon, which honors employees from hospitals throughout the state.

In addition to Zajicek, 2011 employees of the month were: Keith Long, housekeeping aide; Mark Lister, laboratory assistant; Soni Blackburn, accounting payroll clerk; Sonia Fry, Home Health office supervisor; Mary Hadorn, registered nurse; and Tiffany Wallman, occupational therapist.
