The Beatrice Community Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce the selection of Gina Heckey of Sidney, Montana, as its new executive director.
“We look back with great appreciation at the job that Sam Rennick has done for the Beatrice Community Hospital Foundation, and we look forward with much excitement as Gina starts as our new executive director,” Rich Hovendick, president of the BCH Foundation Board of Directors, said. “Gina has a great background and brings a very professional and positive attitude with her as she begins what we all hope is a long tenure with the Foundation.”
Heckey, a Certified Fund Raising Executive, will begin her new role Jan. 14, replacing Sam Rennick, who is retiring after six years as Foundation executive director.
Since 2015, Heckey served as Senior Executive for the Sidney Health Center Foundation for Community Care, and prior to that
served as fundraising coordinator for the Foundation. She has also worked as guest relations manager of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City, and in retail management for 10 years in Kansas City metro.
A native of Greeley, Colo., Heckey has a Bachelor of Science Degree in business administration and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in international studies, both from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Active in the community, Heckey is currently a member of Kiwanis and membership chair of the Associates of Fundraising Professionals of Montana. She is also a member of the Montana Nonprofit Association and the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy. Heckey is a certified yoga instructor and has taught and practiced yoga for 12 years.
"I am excited to begin my new role at the BCH Foundation,” Heckey said. “It will take a little bit of time to truly learn all the ins and outs of such a strong Foundation, but I am confident that the board and staff will help with the adjustment. I also look forward to moving to the community and jumping in with both feet."
Heckey said she truly enjoys the people of the Midwest and is excited to get closer to her family in Nebraska and her friends in Kansas City. Heckey ‘s dad and her sister’s family live in Omaha, and she is delighted to be moving closer to her relatives in Sidney and North Platte.
