The Beatrice Community Hospital Laboratory is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a
year in order to provide timely test results to physicians.

The staff of 8 Medical Technologists and 1 Secretary/Phlebotomist serve in-patients, emergency department patients and outpatients by providing specimen collection and testing in Hematology, Coagulation, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Blood Banking, TDM, Microbiology and Immunology. The laboratory also receives and tests specimens from clinics and nursing homes in the community. The results are used by attending physicians to diagnose, treat, monitor, and evaluate efficacy of treatment for their patients.

Quality results are insured by maintaining and updating equipment and the testing menu, quality control and proficiency testing, and by completing quality assurance programs for both instruments and staff.
