Services - Nutritional Services

 

The Nutritional Services Department provides healthy meals for patients, residents, visitors and staff seven days a week, 365 days a year.

The department also operates the public cafeteria and the vending machines.

The department prepares and distributes Meals on Wheels for the Beatrice area.

Catering for small gatherings can be arranged by contacting personnel at the Nutritional Services Department.

Registered Dietitians do individual patient and family counseling and provide educational support for a variety of health concerns including:

  • Diabetes
  • Cardiac Rehab
  • Weight loss plans
  • Crohn's Disease
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome
  • Food allergies
  • Cholesterol reduction

Diabetes Education 

  A Certified Diabetes Educator is available for consultation and offers monthly education programs.

Medical Nutrition Therapy

  Medical Nutrition Therapy is used to aid in the treatment of many diseases and conditions. It involves the assessment of the patient's nutritional status, followed by the development of a plan of care ranging from diet modification to specialized nutrition support. The patient is monitored to evaluate their response to the treatment, with adjustments made as needed.

Appointments for consultation with a Medical Nutrition Therapist can be made in the Nutritional Services Department.
