About Us

Beatrice Community Hospital provides comprehensive, family-centered obstetric care for new infants and mothers.

The department offers three LDR suites, providing as many comforts as possible while providing quality professional care. Patients are admitted to one room for labor, birth and a short recovery time. Care is individualized based on the needs and wishes of each patient. A large whirlpool is available for use during labor. If medically indicated, it can reduce the use of medication during labor.

OB nurses are certified in many areas within obstetrics including Neonatal Advanced Life Support, Lactation and Breastfeeding.

Perinatal services available include:

  • State-of-the-art Family Birthing rooms
  • Obstetrical Epidural Anesthesia
  • Non-Invasive Fetal Monitoring; monitoring baby prior to delivery, both externally and internally as needed
  • Obstetrical Ultrasound
  • In Home Bilirubin Therapy
  • Family Centered Care
  • Lactation Support Services

The nursery at BCH provides routine and special care, with a specialized newborn security system in place.

Each new mother delivering at BCH receives a free home visit by a registered nurse after dismissal. This offers an opportunity to ask the questions that come up after arriving home. Phone calls and visits are encouraged.
