Services - Surgery and Post Anesthesia
The Surgery and Post Anesthesia Care Units provide care for patients undergoing minor, complex and diagnostic procedures. It consists of three surgical suites, an endoscopic room and a four bed postanesthesia care unit. Incorporated into the area is a sterile central supply to provide safe, quality care for each patient.
The unit is staffed with registered nurses, a licensed practical nurse and surgical technicians. All RN's are certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Some are certified in Pediatric Life Support. The Clinical Manager is certified in operating room nursing and the PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) nurse is certified in post anesthesia nursing. All technicians are certified as surgical technicians. The sterile central supply person is also certified in sterilization techniques.
Surgical services are individualized for the pediatric as well as adult patient. Services include:
- General
- Obstetric/gynecological
- Orthopedic, which includes minimally invasive hip and knee replacement
- Ear, nose and throat
- Podiatry
- Cataract procedures
- Urology, including lithotripsy
- Sentinel node mapping for breast cancer patients
